Transition Dinner ends 2012-13 Club Year PDF Print E-mail

Prattville Rotary Club's 2010-11 Club year ended last Thursday, June 14, with our annual transition banquet. Outgoing president Clay McConnell passed the gavel to our 2012-13 president, Ron Mitchell. Other highlights of the evening included presentation of checks to several local non-profit organizations, as well as presentations to a few of our club members and members of our community. Community members presented with the Paul Harris award included retired police chief Alfred Wadsworth, Prattville Baptist CEO Ginger Henry, and Autauga County Coalition Executive Director Boo Rogers.

This year's scholarship winners are:

Portugal GSE group meets with Prattville Rotary PDF Print E-mail

A delegation of Rotarians from various clubs in Portugal visited the Prattville Rotary Club Tuesday. Each member spoke briefly and they also showed a video about their home country. A group from Alabama will visit Portugal next month. Portugal will also host the next international convention.

Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey Speaks to Club PDF Print E-mail

Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey spoke to the Prattville Rotary Club on September 20, 2011. She discussed changes in state government that she said have happened since the last election. "State government is much more business oriented," Ivey said.

Rotary Golf Tournament October 26 PDF Print E-mail

The Prattville and Millbrook Rotary Clubs are holding the 18th annual Rotary Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament on October 26, 2011. Lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m., and tee time is at 1 p.m.

Proceeds from last year’s event benefitted such organizations as the Autauga County Family Support Center, Youth Leadership Autauga County, Child Protect, PASS, Public Safety Insurance Fund, Autauga County Foundation, Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition, Teen Challenge, Autauga County United Way, Smith Center, Autauga County Children’s Policy Council, Prattville Library, and the YMCA “Coach a Child” campaign. Also, funds will be used for Rotary’s international work including our mission to eradicate Polio around the world, as well as provide scholarships for two graduating high school seniors in Autauga County.
